Mossygrove, formerly Hailstorm, is the daughter of Icestar, the ShadowClan leader. Icestar was a very neglectful and abusive mother, causing her kits to grow up with a plethora of issues. Mossygrove was one of three; Dawnstar being her sister, and Tinykit, her brother who died from neglect as a kit.
After Tinykit, Mossygrove was the weakest of the two remaining kits. As such, Icestar (Iceheart at the time) favored Dawnstar, and focused all her attention on the bigger, stronger kit, all the way up until she was a warrior. Mossygrove was mainly raised by Owlfeather, her grandmother, who tried to give her the life she deserved, and raised her to understand the compassion and love that her own mother never showed her.
Mossygrove suffers from a plethora of mental disorders, including severe anxiety and depression, as well as bipolar depression. She struggles in social situations, and has trouble making friends. She is easily startled, and quick to back off. When faced with a challenge, she quickly becomes overwhelmed and takes her anger out on herself. Even though her mother trained her and her sister vigorously, Mossygrove is a terrible fighter and hunter. She had a mentor who didn't care much about her, who only did the bare minimum, which is why most of Hailpaw's training experience was being used as a practice dummy for Dawnpaw.
Mossygrove lived every day in ShadowClan in fear that her mother would either lash out or exile her for some reason or another, even if that's unreasonable. She has many irrational fears, and is rarely ever happy or comfortable, no matter where she is or who she is with. She was truly miserable.
She was missing from ShadowClan for a few moons. She decided to go off on her own for a while, as Clan life was ridiculously draining on her. She wanted to go back eventually, but the thought of confronting her mother about having been gone so long terrified her. She joined Falcondive's shadow cult whose plan was to take down Icestar--Mossygrove wanted to help her Clan and herself, and importantly, she wanted to help Falcondive and prove to him that she cared about him.
Eventually, Dawnstar/stripe found her and dragged her back to camp where Icestar berated her and slandered her name to the whole of ShadowClan, then appointed her sister as deputy as a reward for her capture. Unable to handle the heavy situation, Mossygrove did the only thing she could think to do. She killed Icestar and ran.
After killing her mother, Mossygrove had an intense emotional breakdown that almost ended in her death. She had a heated argument with Falcondive who was sent to kill or retrieve her, and he ended up letting her go. Their final moments together were bittersweet. Mossygrove spent a few days on her own recuperating, and then travelled to RiverClan to join, where Lionstar gave her the new name she now carries.
She escaped to live in RiverClan, where she lived as a fugitive basically in the witness protection program. Nobody but Lionstar knows her identity as Icestar's killer, and not even Lionstar knows that she is the daughter of Icestar. That is a secret she holds close to her chest, as she fears rejection or worse if that secret got out. She lives every day in fear that her sister will come for her.
She abandoned RiverClan not long after joining to pursue life as an outsider, feeling like there was nowhere she truly belonged.

Owlfeather - Her grandmother. Seems to be among the only ones who understand how terrible her mother was to her. Was raised more by her grandmother than by her mother.
Mirepaw - cousin. Likes his enthusiasm and positive outlook, and wants to be there for him if he needs anything. She also keeps an eye on his siblings, who are also her cousins, (Ebonyfang and Duskpaw), but hasn't spoken to them as much.
Irisflame - Medicine cat. Thinks she's very kind, wishes she got to know her better.

Falcondive - Former apprentice. They've never really gotten along and have fought several times. He almost killed her in his final assessment. She still cares greatly about him, though. She last saw him just after she had killed Icestar, and he spared her life.
Thistlestep - Didn't trust him because he had killed two of her clanmates in a raid, but after talking with him, he seems okay.
